Dentures

Replacing missing teeth has substantial benefits for your health and your appearance.  A complete denture, also called a full denture, replaces all the natural teeth and provides support for cheeks and lips.  Without this support, sagging facial muscles can make a person appear older.  And, by replacing missing teeth, dentures improve a person's ability to speak and to eat.

Root Canal

Inside each tooth there is a chamber containing nerves and blood vessels which provide nutrients to the tooth. It is called the pulp and runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don’t seek treatment for it, your tooth can become infected and you could have pain from it.

To save the tooth with a root canal therapy, the dentist removes the pulp, and cleans th
e chamber. Then the root canal is sealed off to protect from leakage. It is generally recommended to have a crown placed over the tooth to protect the remaining tooth structure.

Most of the time, root canal therapy is a relatively simple procedure that can be completed in one to three visits depending on the condition of the tooth and the number of canals present. We always make sure the tooth is properly anaesthetized before performing any dental treatment so you can be assured that there would be minimal discomfort.
Extraction is truly our last resort! Some indications of the need for root canal treatment may be:
  • Spontaneous pain or throbbing while biting.
  • Sensitivity to hot and cold foods.
  • Severe decay or an injury that creates an abcess (infection) in the bone.
