Crowns

Crowns strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure and can improve the appearance of your teeth. Crowns can be made from different materials which include the full porcelain crown, digitally mastered crowns, the porcelain fused-to-metal crown and the all-metal crown.

Restor7Crowns are placed for the following reasons:

  1. The existing tooth structure becomes weakened and can no longer support the filling.
  2. Extensive damage by decay.
    Discolorations and compromised esthetics.
  3. Fractures
  4. Bridges – When missing teeth are replaced with a bridge, the adjacent teeth require crowns in order to support the replacement teeth.
  5. Root canal – After root canal, teeth tend to become brittle and are more apt to fracture. They, therefore, need to be protected by a crown.

Dr Elson will explain which type is appropriate, depending upon the strength requirements and esthetic concerns of the tooth involved.

Bridges

A bridge consists of a replacement tooth/teeth attached to crowns on each side. The bridge is cemented to the teeth adjacent to the space, effectively replacing the missing tooth and preventing any shifting.

The procedures involved in making a bridge are very similar to those for making a crown. Bridges can be made from the same materials as crowns – full porcelain, porcelain fused-to-metal, and all metal.

Implant Dentures

Dental implants offer solutions for all types of tooth replacement.

Single & multiple tooth replacement

Because dental implants replace the tooth root and serve as an anchor, your new teeth are secured directly on the implant. This treatment allows teeth to be restored naturally, without harming or involving your surrounding teeth. Small metal posts are connected to the implant, allowing the replacement tooth to be permanently secured with dental cement or a small screw.

Implant supported dentures

Dental implants can also be placed to permanently anchor and support partial or full dentures, eliminating for dental adhesives. Dentures can be supported with either a bar/clip or ball/socket attachment for removal, allowing doe regular cleaning.
